For many years I had planned to try to produce a self-published book of my forty years of photography around Australia, which would also tell, through the photos and text, some of my life journey. For a long time I worked on scanning approximately one hundred selected slides into my Nikon Scan computer program and I commenced mocking up a possible future book.

At this point things stalled because of my lack of experience in design and production. It was suggested to me that I should engage a Graphic Designer and it is fortunate that the yellow pages led me to find Phil Reece the Director of Corporate Design Solutions in Buderim. Phil provided an excellent, friendly, one-on-one graphic design service.

My finished fifty-six-page colour photography book, titled AUSTRALIAN WILDERNESS and WANDERINGS, A Life Journey in the Great South Land, contains nearly one hundred photographs. Phil confidently assisted with the design layout, fresh ideas, scanning settings, motivation to complete the project, colour correction of old slides, quality assurance of all prints from the slides, quotations from printers and production management of the printing process. Phil’s assistance with all these steps was invaluable to me, as without Phil I would have made a lot of mistakes and wasted money.

I am very happy with the finished product and, only two days after receiving the books from the printer and commencing to distribute a few, I have received warm praise from others for the quality of the book.
